projection tv screen, home theater system      Projection TV Screen

Whenever we do a home improvement project we like to involve the entire family. That means that my wife and I, plus our two small children get in on the fun. Sometimes it does turn into quite a mess when we are all painting, or hanging drywall. But, it is a lot of fun. Recently we were setting up a projection TV screen that was going to be the focal point for the home theater system. I had big plans of recessing it into the wall, putting a frame around it, and when not in use have a picture of something in front of it.

The projection TV screen was 72", so we had to make sure we made the right measurements. I let my ten year old son handle the tape measuring. We made the cuts in the wall and then began making the changes to the studs and putting up drywall to enclose everything. We had drywall mud everywhere! But, that was nothing compared to the amount of paint that didn't make it onto the walls! In the end, the recess for the projection TV screen looked great. There was just one small problem. The opening that we cut, finished off, and thought looked amazing... was ten inches too short! My son measured for 62" instead of the 72". Oh well, back to some more home improvement family fun!
