Probably one of my favorite things in the world to do is to surprise other people. I love knowing that I'm responsible for bringing a smile to someone else’s face, even when they don't know that I'm the person behind the smile. Not too long ago, one of my friends lost her job and has been struggling to make ends meet. She had a meager salary anyway, and didn't have a huge savings, so she was very disappointed when her very old TV went on the blink. She has a computer, but can't afford internet, so when she's home, she can't watch TV or use the computer. She comes over several times a week to watch our favorite series on the LCD HDTV, and a few days ago I heard her comment about once she gets back on her feet, the first thing she's going to do is buy a LCD HDTV for her living room. Of course, I didn't say anything at the time, but that got the wheels turning in my head and later that evening when she went home, I mentioned to my husband about buying her an LCD HDTV as a surprise.

My husband is always on board with these ideas I get to help others, and I said that the only thing was, I didn't want her to know that the LCD HDTV came from us. I know how my friend is, if she knows we bought her the LCD HDTV, and then she'll be trying to pay us back for it, or she'll stress about paying us back, and the LCD HDTV is a gift, not a loan. I pretty much figure she'll guess that the LCD HDTV is from us, but you know what they say- deny, deny, deny! I won't admit it because I don't want it to make her feel bad, so I will give her the LCD HDTV without her knowing it's from us.

Yesterday I took the time to go online and see if I could find an LCD HDTV that would work in her small, but cozy apartment. I requested that the purchase information be left out of the invoice that way she'll have no idea it's from us. I can't wait for her to receive it. I know she'll be so thrilled and that brings joy to my soul.
