Traveling in a strange town can be a little precarious at best. But when there is snow on the ground and you have been at an airport and flying in an airplane for a good portion of the day it can be quite the challenge. Just ask my husband. In comes the portable Garmin GPS system.
You see, we took a trip to a small town back East and had reservations to stay at a romantic quaint Inn. Both of us were very excited for this long planned for get-a-away. We had rented a car and immediately found ourselves in a mess of freeway and snow. It did not take us long to get completely turned around and lost beyond any means of return. Thank goodness I had packed the portable Garmin GPS in my carry on bag. I entered the address of that much anticipated Inn and the portable Garmin GPS system quickly offered us step by step directions. The verbal queuing helped us keep focus as we meandered through the snow covered streets.
My husband finally pulled the rented vehicle in front of very nice bed and breakfast Inn. It looked even better than the pictures depicted it would be. We couldn't wait to see the inside. Thirteen hours after leaving home that morning the Garmin GPS guided us safely to our destination.
